The mystery of where Charles Sunter was in 1891 has been solved.
Aha…scandal in the family. Almost certainly Lofty’s father Charles was illegitimate.
1901 Census which shows that Charles Sunter is aged 19, a railway Stoker, and living at 5 Victoria Street, Thornaby.
